    Default Racing Dynamics Strut Bar

Just bought one off of ebay for too much money (had to have it). Bought it for my 94 540 but when I went to install it it hits the power steering reservoir. Has anybody relocated the PS reservoir to clear a strut brace? Decided to give it a shot on my 92 Touring and it'll work on it as long as I don't try and get the diagnostic port cap off, it's right on top of it. The strut bar might be back on ebay this weekend. ;-)

Haven't tried the RD bar, but the Mason Engineering one off eBay fits like a glove... well I had to shave some of the padding under the hood but it's good!

back on ebay it goes, their is a special bar for the E34 V8s, none of them are a one size fits all because of the difft configurations. I doubt you will find one on the bay, you really want to move stock stuff around for an aftermarket part?

you can bend the PS reservoir a bit if its not that far from making the reach.

Howdy AllGo'nShow, I don't have a strut bar. I do have a spare oil pan for the m30b35. If that 7 is as low as the pic looks, maybe you ought to have a spare?

haha its not THAT low, yet, maybe soon, air bags are fun.

Let me look at mine tomorrow, I do take the thing on the odd offroading trip by the looks of it so I know mine leaks so if its in bad shape then I may get another while fixing the small leak.

Well, I have RD bars on both my 94 540 and 92 525 touring. It sits close to the diagnostic port but the port can be unclipped easily for access, and there is a relocation kit for the power steering fluid reservoir for the v8 cars. I still have one brand new one for sale for the v8 cars.

    Default Thanks

I've got it on the Touring and there's no problem clearing it's M3 engine but I don't care for the fact I had to take the strut dust covers off. Just don't care for the unfinished look. I'd like to try and relocate the power steering reservoir on the 540. Is that RD relocation kit still available or do you have a part number? I was thinking I could probably fabricate something up to move it just far enough away to mount the bar. I've got new hoses and Redline fluid in there so don't need to get at it often.

Default There is a bracket that you need to relocate the PS Pump

That Racing Dynamic ships with the Bars for the V-8's. I have it on mine and it fits perfectly. - JT
