i think you need to pull the transmission computer in the E-box
Title says it all. How do I extinguish the "trans program" warning on the OBC after swapping out the auto tranny for a 5-speed?
Your answers ASAP, please.![]()

you need to ground the wire that goes to the check control module from the tranny computer, it should be on the diagram for ccm or the tranny computer i don't have my info here at home for the wire color but a diagram will show it
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
Unplug the connector to the TCU which is behind the right front passenger footwell speaker. The trim panel & speaker come out easily. The TCU is tucked up in the opening, you might have to remove the glovebox on an e34 to have enough room to get to it.
The pin numbers are molded into the TCU. Correlate which pin is #33 on the wire socket. Solder a 12" or so length of wire to a shaved down spade lug and stick it into the pin #33 socket and tape it in place. Attach the other end of the wire to any convenient ground. I ended up scraping some paint off near the speaker and drilled it for a self-tapping screw with some No-Lox to keep it from ever corroding and it got rid of the "trans program" message instantly.
If you follow the wiring diagram, I think it is a grey-brown wire, and it goes to pin #5 in the main fuse box for the CCM. Not sure how to locate it there, never bothered looking for it at that end.

Yes Sir, of course I did and I translated it into German too.Originally Posted by winfred
But in Germany I was told the part cannot be repaired/opened, otherwise the road certificate will expire. German TUV does not allow to repair this part for safety reasons.
Here we go, English on Bimmerboard and German translation.
