With the pic you posted, it's gonna be very challenging to do it convincingly.

A wider shot would make it easier.

Kyle - look at the lighting on the picture of the basketball player and at the lighting on the pictures of your girlfriend. You can start with taking a picture with light coming from somewhere obove. The pictures you've given it would be impossible to make a convincing image.

The players picture has light coming obviously from above and to the left.
