My '94 540i does not have the all-in-one key, just the flashlight key and seperate three-button remote. But I do know that the '95 540i came with the all-in-one, so I suspect that the 530i does as well. -- Mike
Does anyone knows if all the 1994's 530i brought the key with remote? My owners manual says it supposely does, but I bought my car 1 week ago and I got 3 keys but not the one with a remote and I stopped by the dealer and the guy said some didn't bring it but he didn't looked very savvy.
Thanks

Mine didn't bring any remote.
check under the back seat for the keyless entry module, that is a sure sign your car is equipped with the technology. I belive you can purchase another remote and program it to your car. Bruno's site has some info about it.

My '94 540i has the 2 button key, they are really pricey, so alot of folks buy a regular replacement key when the system inevitably fails.
Do you know if Bruno's procedure will allow you to add an additional remote? Mine is on the key and currently works, but is somewhat flaky.Originally Posted by SchnellE34
Done that. It works, but before the battery swap I spent a good 10 minutes trying to disarm the alarm system. Its better now, but still sometimes I have to tap it once or twice to get it to lock or unlock the car. Because of this I've been a little hesitant to engage the alarm. Getting a new remote isn't at the top of my list of things to buy for the car, but wouldn't hurt knowing if there's a good alternative to buying a new key/remote from the stealer.Originally Posted by SchnellE34
