Does anybody recognize this behaviour (maybe it's completely normal)?

are you talking about when the transmission shift into another gear?

Both my 535's have done it.Originally Posted by Dave M

Nope, with my stick, its just not a super smooth acceleration. You can feel the points at which power is increased.Originally Posted by Alexlind123

I have never noticed that.Originally Posted by Dave M

My 535 is like that also, except if you load the clutch a bit before finishing a shift, like when you churp the tires in second, then it seems to accelerate cleanly.
I've learned I can accelerate much faster using wheel spin off the line and shifting into second. RWD LSD = fun!
Isn't this directly related to the engines torque curve?
Mine does the same thing and I'm happy that power increases instead of the invers.
I replaced my 02 sensor and it took care of that. It was especially noticeable when I would putt putt up a hill @ 2500-3000 rpm. I still have some damn stinky exhaust though.
