    Default will regular prestone hurt my 95' 540i/a

    i'm only asking because that is what the previous owner used.

    Nah... won't hurt it at all... Just change it every two years.

    ditto, but i am sure this will start a flood of "it's only a few bucks more for the real stuff" as long as it's changed out every couple years it'll work, that's the biggest thing. i would stay away from the dexcool **** chevy and a few others use, it did wonders on the bosses suburban

    Default I use the Zerex G-05 coolant. Works Great!

    I think it was about $7 per gallon from Autozone and its been in both
    the 540 and the 750 with no problems.

    Default Ya I am surprised # of posts on this thread and no one...

    Has said the BMW coolants just a few bucks more. I've been using prestone for years, but on my next flush I am gonna spend the $$$ and use only BMW coolant going forward... giving into peer pressure...LOL

    get some absolutly no name **** and use that. just dont come back cryin about your **** bein broken. I dont think you have to absolutly use BMW coolant but when you come back whinin with your tail between you tail be prepared.

    on that note you could probley use cat piss, as long as you changed it in a timely fashion and didn't live in a cold state

    Cat piss has a much more distinct odor too.. you would definitely know if you've got a heatercore leak.
