Mine too, after 220,000 the inside was like that but a bit darker underneath the cover. Even better the cylinder bores were perfect with no wear visible or detectable with a finger or a nail up the bore to where the ring turns at the top of its cycle.

Castrol GTXII was used exclusively, (which in Australia is a 20W-50 weight) as it is hot here! IN colder climes this would be 10W-40. Nick
