...I'm thinking of swapping out my 1991 525i original engine which has 275,000+ kms on it. It's burning oil like . Do you know which engines will fit and from what year and model? I'd like to swap with an engine with more power if possible. Thanks in advance.

You would need a new ECU and other parts if it wasn't the exact same engine.

i know thers a place called Bavarian engine exchange. you could get the performance package, or maybe something with VANOS.
