    Default Tachometer problems

Hi everyone.. I've got an annoying problem with my 530.. There's a dodgy electrical connection somewhere to the tachometer dial.. You can see it turning on and off, which is really starting to bug me.. Sometimes it'll stay on for days at a time, sometimes it switches off once every few seconds. My question is, where does the tach get its signal from? I've checked the connections on the back of the instrument cluster and they seem ok.. I'd rather start looking for bad connections at wherever the signal comes from than take the cluster apart and look for a bad connection in there. Any help much appreciated!

Well, I solved the problem, thought I'd post it up for anyone else who might have this problem. Turns out one of the pins on the beige connector behind the speedo side of the cluster had gone kind of black, like it was burned or something. I scraped all of the black off and bend the pin slightly to make a better connection and it's been fine ever since..

Thanks for that, good to see that you managed to solve the problem.
