The PO bought mine used for about $1600. I think they were in perfect shape when he bought them. (Less perfect now--that is why hubby is no longer authorized to park my car). I don't know what they came off of. And no they don't require hubcentric rings.
One downside, at least with the high performance tires is that is very hard to get the tires on the rim and less skilled people will ding your rims. Also when I read the individual reviews by people who had purchased the tires I was considering, I got the impression that threadlife is woefullly short--but again that may just be on the high performance tires.
When you were bumming around Tire Racks website, did you also see the composite ratings for specific tires?
