    Default Offset ET20 to ET35

Hi, I was looking for a new rim for my E34 95' 530i and I found one:
    18" x 8-1/2" ET35 w/ 225/40ZR18 - 92W

However, the original offset for the E34 is 20 and after the calculation:
Assume the OEM 15" rim is 7"(Am I right?)

"The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 34mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 4mm"

Will it be ok if the inside is 34mm less? or it will hits the strut?

or if use a 15mm spacer, which bring down the new offset back to 20:

"The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 19mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 19mm"

Will the 19mm less inside acceptable? And how about the 19mm extra outside?

Calculation was done by this websitehttp://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html

And other suggestion, command or other offset/spacer combination? should I consider this wheels or not at all

    Thanks so much!

i wouldnt consider those wheels. The E34 suspension has a hard time dealing with the OEM offset.

you mean that the OEM (ET20) offset is not good for the 18" x 8.5" rim or?

Sorry, I'm just a little bit confused.

Also, I saw "ET20 at 15" rims and goes down to ET13 at 18", does it means 18" rims should have a offset lower then 20?

    Thanks for your response!!

et 35 is 3-series offset and would require a 15mm spacer. sure it can be done, but you would then need longer lug bolts and your ride quality would probly suck.

the offset is more related to the width...trust us,ET35 is no good.

Thanks you guys for all the response.

I will take the advise and consider buying a new set of 18"x8" ET20 rims

    or 18" x 8 1/2" ET15 rims.

In this case, which one is better in your point of view?

they will both be fine. are you going to run staggered, 18x8.5 up front and 18x9.5 or 18x10 in the rear?

No, I'm not going staggered with 9.5 or 10" since they're not in my tight budget Q__Q...

but maybe I can go with F8.0 and R8.5~~lol

    Thanks for the idea!

I'm still considering buying the ET35 wheels w/ spacer since they're almost only 1/2 of the price then a new tire/rim package Q___Q

staggered wouldn't/shouldn't affect price very much. post pics of the wheels you're considering!
