hc is unburnt fuel so it could be that your plugs are fouled also before you go change your oil. if that doesn't work then usually the timing might be off or you mak need a new cat.
The car consumes 1 qt already in 1,500 miles. I saw a little traile of light blue smoke as my son sped away from the house. It also fails the NJ inspections in HC. Allowed number was 109. Reading was 1780.
Two questions. What other parts do I need than the valve seal? Also is there a cheaper alternative to a $480 cat from AutoHauz?

I suspect the high HC is from the engine oil which already destroyed the cat. Also if there is a way to set timing on the m50tu, I'd like to know how.
