It's an awesome show. They just take urban myths, and put them to the test through a series of experiments. For instance: Will a football filled with helium fly further when kicked than a football filled with air?
But it's the explosive experiments that are really cool! Look for it on the Discovery Channel.

we even get that show over here....the last show i saw had a segment on wether you it is better to run or walk in the rain and a segment on explosive substances in a toilet...

Great show; educational in a fun "let's blow something up" kinda way...

Yep, not always the most rigorously scientific treatment of the topics, but a really great testament to the value of just trying something to see if it's plausible. It seems like once in a while they're keen to BUST a myth when there's not quite enough evidence for that, or to confirm a myth when there's not quite enough evidence for that either.
They're honest though - they do go back and retry various experiments from the past, try to do a better or more representative job of them, etc. as they see fit. That's hugely to their credit in terms of the educational value!
I sometimes assign it as homework to my Physics students - we have a lot of fun analyzing some of their "experiments"! (Not to mention an hour of that is pretty decent homework!)

due to the excess snivellin on this board about this subject during the last few days....
1) that e34 has been there since 2003. i had just assumed that somebody had seen it and commented on it during the first season of the how.
2) kari byron has a ring on her LH ring finger (i saw a 1st run ep last nite, and she does), so that's that about that.
3) someone has been a very bad little 17 year old down at ye old catholic high school, time for some corporal punishment....
