Default FOG LIGHT both lenses broken - Good alternative to $$ OEM?

    Hi guys,

I need new fog lights for my E34. I usually shop from Pelican and those are $201.75 each... I don't feel like paying $400+ for replacing those so I'm shoping and asking for cheaper and still good alternatives.

    Parts no. I found:
    63178360945 - left assembly
    63178360946 - right assembly

    Hints/advise much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Alex

    well, there are some options
go to Ebay and search for BMW e34 foglights, there you see original Hella new or used, projector foglights made in China, or only the glass to DIY replace the glass, or DEPO foglights.

FCP has the foglight lenses for $51,95/piece for Hella, that is basically all you need. See page 2

On my E36 M3 I replaced last year a original foglight lense with 1 from DEPO, so far no issues.

I'd like to buy lens only and do whatever needed to fit it, but from RealOEM (and Pelican Parts or AutohausAZ) it is like if I need to buy the whole assembly as my car is 1993 (build may).

Or I find that you can't fit the lens for E34 between Sept.1990 up to Dec. 1993...

Am I mislead? (at the dealer as well the parts guy was also telling me I need to get the costly assembly (ca. $260 from BMW) for my car...

    Thanks,
    Alex

    the differences, realoem says
    01 Fog lights, left from 09/1990 to 01/1994 63178360945
    01 Fog lights, right from 09/1990 to 01/1994 63178360946

bracket also changed and also the bulbs

and the ones FCP are offering is completely different, there you can replace the lens only
    63171384233
    63171384234
02 LAMP LENS LEFT up to 09/1990 63171384233
02 LAMP LENS RIGHT up to 09/1990 63171384234

Ok I was'nt sure if the replacement lenses would fit in the housing. I though less expensive lenses I'd like to get were a different model of fog lights. They state they fit for e34 before 09/1990 and after 02/1994.

If I can disassemble the lense of the housing/bracket and fit the replacement in that's perfect. Anyone did that on e34 of 09/1990 to 01/1994 make?

    Thanks for your help.

From what I can see, you are between and betwixt. My car has is a '92 and has the 33/34 fog light part nos. Of course if you go for those, Murphy's law says they will not fit. The skirt fittings look different
