the amp in the pictures that where posted earlier. my amp has everything on a single board & i do not see any coils or caps. not what should i do. if i get an older amp can i connect it into my car or is the wiring different?

It may be possible but probably requires more work than the passive (coils & caps) crossover.
As to whether the wiring will suit, well the wiring itself should be usable but I'm sure the pinouts on the connectors will differ from the passive version.
Whether it can be easily adapted?... I don't know.
Until someone who owns one of these later systems (and has some electronic skills) posts a full evaluation I think we're in the dark!

The old one has an electronic eq and an speaker-level crossover. The new one seems to have got just the electronic one only, which you might want to check- is it running at line level from your stereo or boosting off speaker outputs as the old ones were? If the latter I'd turf it and go with separate amps and elecontric crossovers to run them.Nick
