Default I need a better repair manual than Bentley!

    Hi,

Is there a better repair manual than Bently for M60s? I feel so dumped by Bentley publishers for not covering M60s so well. Do the dealers have a repair manual for these engines?

    Thanks
    Arun

I'm not too fond of the Bentley either. Maybe I'm just so used to the Haynes format.

yeah well...what can you do short of writing your own? I felt let down on that aspect but I got over it fairly quickly and filled in the missing parts with this forum.

you're kidding. even for my e28 the haynes 3er and 5er manual is useless in comparison to the bentley.

Well Haynes manuals can vary from good to crap depending on the vehicle.
They tend to be more comprehensive for English vehicles.

However after all the flag waving and praise dumped upon the Bentley I was rather underwhelmed after I forked out $130.00 for a Bentley manual.
To be fair, one of the problems is the number of variants in the E34 series.
From a publishing perpective it would have not been economically viable to produce a detailed manual for each of the variants.
So the Bentley has to cover the lot and as a result details for each engine type etc are rather thin.

BTW does anyone no where to source BMW factory PDF manuals... in English!

i must admit having both the e28 and e34 manuals from bentley, the e34 manual is tiny in comparison to the e28 manual which can be used in place of brick to smash windows. hell it even tells you how the rebuild the manual gearbox, bonza maaaaaaaaaaate!

Default Sure, you can buy them from the same place i bought mine, from

bmw, its only 454.00 US for the 3 manuals that you need for the e34's, only they don't come in pdf, bmw uses html and a webpage browser to view their manuals. Thats 623.71 Aus.

I disagree with you on the haynes... I find them to be pretty useless and i have virtually all of them out there. Haynes, chilton's,bentley, motors, mitchells, popularmechanic s bmw cd's, Out of the whole bunch of aftermarket manuals the bentley is still one of the best for overall help.

Buy the E32 7 series Bentley Repair Manual, that covers the 740 M60 engine.
