    Default battery cable positive fuse

this part popped in my car...

FUSE BATTERY CABLE POSITIVE 80A part number 61131382065

i dunno if its because of old age... bcoz when i touched it, the whole thing crumbled...

is there something wrong with the car or this is due to pop...

take note, the car is 15 yrs old already and i havent changed it...
i doubt if the previous owner changed it too...

My car is just as old as your car and this part hasn't popped or been replaced since new. Yours could've failed due to old age, however I would check the battery connection to see if there is any visable evidence to why that fuse popped. Put a new one in, if it pops again, you know you've got a short somewhere.

its a common fault for these to fail, i wouldnt say they should 'crumble' but certainly crack or fracture

depends on the model, if the battery is under the hood(bonnet), then you will have 2, one under the hood near the battery and another under the rear seat, if your battery is under the rear seat then as far as I know thats the only one

They commonly break with old age.
