    i don't see why it wouldn't work, not sure on cam spec's and valve sizes so i don't know if one is a upgrade for the other but they should interchange fine

    ps if you'd have a need for a whole motor the new guy at our shop just pulled a sweet running motor out of his 84 533 to replace it with a turbo'd 3.5 saturday, i could find out what he wants for it if you like

    Head was on eBay and went for <$125 inc ship. Claimed 12/24 cast date and 535 compat. I was uneasy with cam compatability, esp for my '85 535at. Faint memory of 533 as more of a clean revver like a M20 than the torque grunt of M30.

    My 535at needs cam. Would have needed to change cam in 533 for Motronic compatability so only possible benefit might have been better valve train and the one rocker that must be replaced. Visual inspection indicates that only #1 exhaust lobe and rocker are bad. Not even any visible wear on the other 11 lobes.

    eBay prob still good buy, but for reasons other than current. Like, what to pay for a parts car? Value = only to parts that you need.
