Yes, it's a mercedes, a 1997 s320, i would post on the mercedes forums but they all seem to be more interested in ebaying glue on ****.

So i beseech the gurus, have a look and see if you can tell me anything

were not generally MB gurus but there are a fe experts her...I am not one.

From the pics nothing looks bad, a lot of stuff is similar to out bimmers. Do the front struts go into a housing or ride seperatly? Have you had the entire frone compomnants checked for play?

Pot holes, or rough roads. I can replicate it by swerving back and fourth quickly like i'm warming up my tires. I've replaced the sway bar bushings, as instructed by my local mercedes dealership. Twas no help.

There was a guy that had a similar problem and said it was his sway bar links, i'm hate wasting time by fixing stuff that isn't broken so i was hoping someone could tell me by those pics. Any sure way to find out if it's the sway bar link before replacing it?

if the problem was on a bimmer, we would say the sway bar links.
the front suspension parts are fairly similar on both cars, so i would try those as well.

It will be cheap and if it works, hey it works!

Kind of sounds like the sway bar links to me too. I been pondering on getting a W140 for awhile now so I've been doing some research. Here are some links of MB websites I visit that may help you out some:

I agree with the others, sounds like swaybar links. set the car on a level surface and reach under and try to move the link, you should be able to twist it with firm pressure, but there should be no play at all. They will tend to make a light rattling sound as well when going over slightly rogh roads. They can be a pain to remove without an impact gun, the hex hole in the shaft tends to round out, when using a wrench.
