    Default Oh my...

Only if I get sponsored by Coke etc. Otherwise, I would rather drive a Lada.

Actually, I thought it was sort of clever. They probably have self-contained generators that also sense wheel position, a WI-FI connection, a computer that sequences the lights. Technically, it's nontrivial.

I wonder how fast you'd have to drive so that you get a smooth image? Let's see... your eye can smooth over anything overf 15 frames/sec. Since there are three light bars, that's 5 RPS or 300 RPM. Escalade wheels are pretty big (shoots over to tirerack.com) Whoa. 295/35-22 That's a big wheel. About 650 RPM at 60 MPH according to 1010tires.com. So, you'd have to drive at a minimum speed of 60 x (300/650) = 28 MPH.

Now, where did I leave that Escalade......?

And fashion statements (bling) are the biggest rip-off items you can buy.
Don't be surprised if the U.S. spends more on Bling than the GDP of half the countries in Africa.

So yeah, there is probably a new generation of budding engineers who are getting into it because there is a huge market in bad taste trash.

Well in the '90's it was telecommunications engineeers.
Now it's engineers with a major in 'Bling'.
