    Default Weird VIN WTF??

my friend is looking at a 528i e39 1996 with the VIN 6T9REPV97T301X005 that VIN doesn't seem to be correct i thought most BMW VIN's started with WB etc. this looking like a frigging Toyota VIN! any guru's out there care to shed some light.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VIN

Looks like an Ausie Toyota with under 500 models produced according to the link, kinda weird, lets us know what you find out. Did BMW manufacture some cars in australia in the Toyota factory for good politics or something?

its a surrogate VIN which explains the lack of Compliance plate for this grey import apparently all VIN's starting with 6T9REPV97 are illegal imports.......... man far out thats surprising!!!! luckily my friend didn't buy it yet. shall i sick wingman onto him?

apparently he is sicking the cops onto himself, the owner is going to get it checked out by the cops, i didn't realise until today they actually do issue surrogate VIN's for imports, thats F-ed up! So let that be a lesson to all of you australians if an import doesn't have compliance plates its probably illegal!

After reading that vic roads report and finding out that thats where this car is from i am pretty sure its illegal! Man i hate grey import BMW's always stuffed in some way shape or form

no one, where i work is like a scene out of mad max, lots of site offices, containers, old cranes, trucks, generators and other random stuff sitting around............ But we will be getting new German Cranes soon hehehe you should see the difference in quality of everything from the germans. their maintenance regimes are farrrrrrrrrr superior to any american crane documentation

bumping! so australians can see the post if they haven't already. and know that grey imports are gay imports, and not the good gay brokeback mountain stuff that gets critical acclaim!

PS i am not gay. hence neither of my car's are grey imports
