    Default Tires

Does anyone have any experience with the Yokohama avs db2? I am looking for some tires and i found some on tire rack for 74 a piece. Is there a better tire for cheaper?? Thanks for the input guys.

I've heard great things about those tires, except that they're expensive. But $74 isn't expensive, so you seem to have found a bargain.

I'd have gone with the AVS db2 if my budget had allowed. Instead I went with Falken ZE-512s, and I'm very happy with them. I paid more than $74 for them, though.

Are you sure the discounted tires aren't in some wacky size? 205/75/13?

Personally I am not a fan of Yok's, but many people are. Some say there wear to quickly. I think Town Fair Tire has a "real" treadwear warranty on them.

    Other options.

    Avons
    Falkens
    Toyos

When price is no object, I always choose Michelin

I'd rather buy Avon instead of Yoko.

I just bought a set of the Michelin Exalto's for my daughters MB. They were around $470 out the door at Sears with the Road Hazard and Lifetime rotate and balance. Installed.

I know it's a little much, but the tires are great. The steering response is excellent, they also have the best ratings for an all season tire from the rack.

You might want to check them out before you make a decision. I would recommend them.

Take a look also at the BF Goodrich Traction T/As. They're also V-rated and only 80 apiece. I only mention them because it's what I've got. I can't post much of a review as I've only put about 600kms on them, but compared to the cracked Toyos I had before they're quieter, smoother riding, better gripping, give more precise steering and have great snow traction as well.

PS: Tire Rack also has some Kumhos in the same size, same speed rating, but they're summer tires only for < $50 apiece. I can't be arsed to look them up right now as I am a lazy bum, but you can easily find them.

I have a set and have loved them. The are great in the rain and not too shabby on the dry stuff. These do get costly with the larger sizes, but for stock sized wheels- they are a great deal. Can't beat them at this price.
