Wow, I didn't think I would get this sort of response! I can't fix the car because I don't have the tools, skill, or time. I'm starting with the FBI in 3 days and will be away for 17 weeks, so this would need to happen asap. The car is located in Long Island, NY. I should also mention that two mechanics have also recommended replacement of upper control arms. It also has a fluctuating idle which I've tolerated for 7 years. No mechanic has been able to rectify the problem. I have photos I can email anyone who's interested. Anyone still interested?

Do you have any idea what size engine and type of transmission the car has? What is the number on the rear deck lid?
