Default Yay! I got the codes to flash finally!

After not being able to get the codes to work for quite some time, i was able to make it work today. I got 1213, looking at the codes on this site, i got Lambda 2. Ok, now excuse my ignorance, but what is lambda?

Lambda as is referred to oxygen sensor. You have 2 of them, located just at the front of your catalytic converter.

At about $100 a pop from BMA, it's an expensive item. Bill R. posted a site that he has had good luck with and the price was reasonable too, I believe it was a Walker brand O2 sensor. But I don't remember which post it was in....

You might want to check your vacuum hoses, and intake gaskets for leaks as this can help to throw false readings from the sensor.

Did you have a particular method?? I can't seem to get mine to work either, and I remember you saying you had the same problem.

Oxygen sensor eh? I got thrown off because there was a seperate code that actually said Oxygen Sensor 1/2.

E34 540 i had tried everything. First i had my foot to the ground without pressing in the kickdown button. and did 5 pushes of the button very quickly. Nothing. Then i had my foot off the gas and put the pedal to the floor without pressing the kickdown 5 times, each time completely releasing the gas. Nope. Then I had my foot off the gas and and pressed the kickdown, removed my foot completely and pressed the kickdown 4 more times. Nothing. Finally, today i did the thrid method, but instead of pressing the kickdown button 5 times quickly within 5 seconds I tried to space each one out every 1 second. As in, 5 kickdowns in exactly 5 seconds, instead of under. It worked.

Lamda means that there is something wrong in the intake system that is beyond the factory DME control units ability to meter air. Most likely an intake leak as in the thread I posted.
