I wonder if they bought the one that was on eBay a couple weeks ago.
Remember? "Owned by 78-year-old," etc. It looked just like this one.
I don't think that's a high price at all for a car in that condition with those miles. But I'm not buying . . . must have been mighty sweet to see in person.

Stock rims on 3.6 M5s
They were panned for their style (makes it look like the tires are whitewalls . . .) but are most effective in cooling the brakes.
