Default OT: Just spent 300 miles behind the wheel of a new Dodge Charger

Car was not to bad. Rental for a road trip to a DCX plant. 3.5 V6 - automatic. Car drove nice on the freeway - gas pedal was so light - had trouble maintaining speed. Dodge really missed on a few touches with this car. Things like a light for the ashtry, automatic lights & a manual transmission.

I'd consider a v8 version if they made it with a stick, if DCX antys up with a real job.

I just drove a jaguar x-type (wahtever year they first came out)....it was horrible. I was begging to get into the e34 after the 80 miles round trip.

Ever try and plug in a phone cord at night in a car that is unfamiliar? The e34 ashtray is illuminated.

The first car I got from Thrifty (300C) had an inoperative cig lighter - no way I am driving through Ohio without a radar detector,

I feel your pain. When was going to college and dating my wife, I drove I-75 through Ohio several times every year. I hated going from Michigan and Kentucky's 70 mph to Ohio's 55 (I think Ohio has raised some speed limits, but the Police are still looking for Michigan drivers).

Back on topic, the Charger SRT8 will have a 'manu-matic' tranny but a lot of those transmissions are soft and slow (not to be confused with Ferrari's 360 Modena paddle shifters, changing gears in 150 milliseconds ).
