Replace front seats with power seats 525

I'd like to pick an experts brain!

Can one replace the normal front seats on a 525 '95 with power seats? Are all the connectors there or will you need to run some cable your self? If so are the seats specific to model or could you for arguments sake put seats from a 540 in?

I'd gladly trade my 'comfort' power seats for manual 'sport' ones.

Unfortunately not, just the original grey leather "normal" seats. The real reason I'm asking the question is 'cause the leather is pretty worn and I don't know any other way but to replace the seats(and it might as well be power if it works). Is there anything else I could do to fix the leather perhaps?

The seats you're talking about come up on ebay regularly. It's just a matter of checking often and waiting until one (or two) come up in the color and condition you want.

There are lots of leather restoration products out there, but I don't know a lot about them. Post pics of your seats so we can see how bad they are and offer suggestions.

You could always have the seats recovered, too, by an upholsterer. But that may not be cost effective, given the low cost of what you'll find on ebay.

Sorry, I can't answer your question about using power seats where there previously were none.

I have some Leaterique but I'm waiting until the weather improves before I try it. My leather's in pretty good shape to begin with, though, but I have heard that Leatherique does wonders on all kids of leather.

If in pretty good shape, you may not want to re-dye your seats, try just using the rejuvinator stuff first, see how it comes out. I found the re-dye process very meticulous and time consuming. Plan on having the car down for 3-5 days at least, esp. if you have holes to fill in, for the whole re-dye process. You're right, it should be pretty warm and hopefully dry when doing this.

I'm not going to dye them. They don't need it. I'm just going to use the cleaner and rejuvinator on them.

Thanks for the advice fellows, but I doubt weather Leatherique is available in South Africa. Never heard of it before. Is there a website I could check out?
