My 535i w/5spd & limited slip has been excellent in the snow with 4 Blizzaks. Best rear drive winter car & just as good as most of the fwd cars I've owned.

    Sadly, no

Even today, car makers are increasingly omitting them. I guess they figure most people won't know or care, so why shell out for it? Sad.

My M30 with LSD and blizzaks is pretty sweet! Before I picked up the tires, after first snowfall, I was horrified about what was to come for winter. I thought I had the shittiest possible snow vehicle. Once I got the tires it's a blast to drive. I hate getting my paint all shitty, but you can easily do controlled drifts and make it almost anywhere!

No shame in that. Reality is: one car, one income, winter roads and a car that really isn't all that special. Now, if I had an Aston Martin DB9...

How do i tell if my car has an lsd? Both tires spin, rather than just one if that means anything.

Actually LSD has been replaced by traction control. So there is an element of sadness in that computers are driving cars - not people.

I just spent 4 hours on the road driving through lake erie effect snow - bimmer did great !

Ditto here.. same ones on my basketweaves... love 'em.. although they are a bit squirelly in the dry compared to non snow tires.. all those sipes give a lot of flexibility to the tread blocks.. but that's what gives it such great traction in the snow/ice.

I can't wait to get my new 18s.
