E39 Facelift Question
after 2000 apparently the E39 got a face lift, I have a 1998 TDS - will the facelift rear lights fit it or did the body panels alter slightly?

There's information on this over at Roadfly on the E39 board archive. Short answer, the newer lights don't easily fit. A few people have made the mod, but it's nontrivial and involved sheet metal. Others have bought look-alike cheesy lights from Fleabay that look similar to the newer lights.

sounds like cutting was needed, maybe for different holes in the back
