Default Identify these HG kit washers...

What are the washers circled in red for?

These came in my headgasket kit and I am not sure where they go. The smallest one is copper.
(I already have the rest of the parts pictured back in place.)

    Thank you,

    Nobody knows?

There are 4 sizes, one of each smallest and largest, two of each middle size. Maybe I'll have to look through my parts again to see if they match any of the old ones.

Perhaps the gasket set covers all M30 engines and they are used in an older application.....

One of them is a crush washer for one of the bolts for the covering plate in the top right corner of the photo (12 11 0 002 735) (the little copper one). On that covering plate there is a white-ish patch around one of the bolt holes on the far right side, that is the spot this washer is meant to stop a leak.

One should be for the timing chain tensioner piston bolt(07 11 9 963 355), the big one.

My hd kit came with 4 new crush washers for the banjo bolts too (11 42 1 252 343).

I had the same head scratcher with mine and found a home for most last night. I agree with myles, the largeest is definetely for the primary chain tensioner. The 'medium' sized ones look much like a crush washer for the block coolant drain plug(s) (my M50 has only one).

    Good luck,

So, does the little copper one go on top of the o-ring washer(12 11 0 002 735)? (the one outside of the red circle just to the right)

Also the old o-ring washer had a snug fit to the bolt(rubber went into the threads) and the new one is rather loose. Hopefully it will seal properly. And it is shown on the opposite side of the plate(11121254308) in the ETK picture.

Sorry, I didn't notice the washer outside the red circle before, that one outside the circle is 12 11 0 002 735.

I'm stumped. Keep the copper one as an ornamental key ring until you figure it out.

Good idea... I figure there must be special place for it, since its a copper one.
It may be M8 size, but I forget at the moment.
