Please Help Trans Acting Up!!

I have a 92 525i....4 speed auto....took a long road trip today....and the display on the dash that says (ED) ect......well the (D) started flashing on an off real quick....and i could feel the car buck back and forth slightly...almost like the torqe converter couldnt lockup...or like it was going in and out of gear.....i still have all my gears....but it shifts real hard now...and the (D) still flashes on and off....more times than not.....PLEASE HELP....fluid is fine...no other trans problems ever...this was suddon...

Check fluid level... if it has been a while since you did a fluid & filter change... do it now... flush tranny fluid a couple of times before finally chanigng the filter too.

ive done all that,its still doing it!,...anything else electronic that i can chk?...i just find it hard to belive that its the transmission itself
