like the ringing of a bell right as the starter dissengauges? could be the starter getting old and slow getting popped by the flywheel, auto m30s kinda ring a little naturally
When i start my car a really loud ding sound as if some metal is higing other metal the car runs fine, but the ding sound scares the **** outta me, a buddy said it could be the muff. who knows.
any one have any ideas

with a "Russian Roulette" ring gear as a few teeth get stripped out.
I had one and it is no fun turning the ingintion key and hearing just the whine as the starter engages air.

yea its a bell sound. so a starter eh. hmm ill try and take it into a shop soon. fack. one more thing

pull the starter, clean it with brake cleaner (where the parts slide and move), let it dry good, then re grease it with something that is comperable with that type of lube.Originally Posted by McWatters

I would check your muffler bearings.
