    Default M-Tec spoiler retrofit

    Hi all!
What's the best way to mark & drill the holes in my bootlid to fit my M-tec spoiler?

    Cheers,

    Shaun

The studs are built into the spoiler, but I don't want to scratch anything in case there's a "proper" way to do it!

    Cheers,

Any errors you make will be hidden by the spoiler anyway.

LOL! I know the old "hold it in place and give it a thump!" trick. Just thought there was another way!

    Cheers!

There probably is, but who cares?

My spoiler came off by accident when some big men were pushing me out of the snow. I was aghast at how much the installers had messed stuff up, but it doesn't matter because it's all hidden.

    Default Tried and true method.....

Take some 2" masking tape and lay a few strips onto the painted surface of the deck lid/boot, and firmly press the spoiler down against the tape ...hard enough to leave impressions into the tape, it may require a few layers of tape to raise up into the spoilers holes.
Be precise. Then use a 1/8" drill bit to begin the holes as a pilot. Proceed from there with the final size drill bit diameter. It's ALWAYS a good idea to use some "dum dum" putty or similiar sealant before you commit the bolt down.
Best of luck.....its always worked for me precisely.
