Default ? for Ed re: E39 sport package

Or anyone who knows... Ed's the only official BMW dealer guy I know of here so I figured he'd know the official answer.

E39 sport package - what does that come with?

    Does a 540 sport have the same (brakes/sway bars/springs/bushings/anything) as the M5?

Is there an engine tune up for the sport package or is it the same as the base model?

Do you get more chicks with the sport package?

    TIA

No, it does not have the M5 stuff, but it does have sport springs and is lower than the standard suspension. The M5 springs would actually raise a 540 if installed. (Exception: the 2003 540 sports had stiffer suspension than previous years and also had the M bumpers and 18 M wheels.)

No engine differences. Mainly trim package differences which changed over the years but include: sport seats, wheels, shadowline trim, M shifter knob, etc.

All e39 6 speed 540's have the sport package. (97's don't have shadowline trim)

You definitely get more chicks with the sport package

Thanks Mike. I'm sure I couldn't leave well enough alone and would want to swap out the suspension anyway... But the bigger brakes would be a nice addition.
