Mayga look, now for two boring ones. I did try the search, but maybe i missed something.
1) I'd like to change the tranny output shaft seal on my S5D 310Z (91 525im). While a 30mm deep thin walled socket seems to be the convention, mine is definately larger. Does anyone know what size it might be? My calipers don't extend that far and I'm getting tired of buying and returning succesively larger sockets. Thought I'd throw that out there.
2)Bentleys suggests "Molycote Longterm 2" or equivalnt for the slave cylinder pushrod and Microlube GL 261" for the clutch to input shaft splines.
What might be the 'equivalent' and what do people use if anything. If there is still a coating of junk on the pushrod, do i really need to search this stuff out, or can I re-assemble without it?

1) Don't ever have a clue.... The socket shuffle is a fun game to play
2)Lubro Moly CV joint grease(molybdenum Disulfide) or Unirex S2 grease(BMW pn 83-23-9-416-138) I wouldn't... it should be about 10 bucks or so... ever from the stealership
If it cannot be fixed by the dremel or ducktape.. get out the sledge...

1) If your calipers are too short to reach, here's a couple of ideas.
a) Use a compass, the drawing kind, reach in, adjust the width across the flats on the nut then remove and measure.
b) Take a piece of pretty stiff wire or rod, a piece of a coat hanger would do, bend it over itself to form a "V", reach in adjusting the width of the points to match the flats on the nut, remove and measure.
c) Take a piece of card stock, an old business card should work, cut the width enough to fit into the recess, eyeball the size and trim with scissors until you get the right width. It might take a couple of tries but it shouldn't be too hard to get close enough.
d) With your calipers measure the inside diameter of the recess for the nut. Take a piece of clay and wedge it between a flat on the nut and the inside wall of the recess. Remove the clay, measure the width, multiply by 2 and subtract that from the recess dimension.
