Went to the 2004 show in Atlanta this afternoon. My overall impression is "Damn, new cars sure are getting expensive".

1990 535i 5-sp., except for 16" M-Contours, cd deck, and clear corners, completely stock. 226k and running strong
.....compared to a 3-5 year old used model. Since BMW has some sort of bumper-to-bumper, maintenence included, buy nothing but gas warranty these days, I guess if you have the money or can at least make the payments you can get behind the wheel of a new car with no extra expences for a few years for not tooooooo much cash. I've always been of the opinion (and it's the opinion of a somewhat poor man!) that if a person can just get past the idea of needing a NEW CAR, something like a 10 year old E34 for maybe $7-10k and another $5-10k for upgrades and maintenence gets you a HELL OF A CAR for the $$$$$! Then again, my '95 525ia stickered for about $43k 9 years ago, so if you add inflation to that amount, the new fives will be great deals.........in about 10 years!(still ugly though!)
