    Default Belt size.....

After the holidays, even the e34 is having problems with belt size. A while back I ordered a serpentine alternator belt for the 525 (build date 10/90). Its a 1560 length. However, the belt I removed from the car is a 1555.

I was told by Patrick that they shipped the correct belt size and would like confirmation that I had the wrong one on there . Realoem does show a 1560 applicable for my vintage of e34.

Sorry about the image size, I'm late for work,

thats only 5mm longer, i dont think you will have any problem using it. There has been several discussions about this fluke but the people were getting the short one and it wouldnt fit...or something like that.

Yep,saw that (just out of my picture range), but wondered whether I had the wrong one installed. Guess my question has been answered as best as possible. I'll use the 1560, should be the right one.

    Thanks guys,

Check the tensioner and pulleys to make sure they were not bent or cracked from having the tighter belt on there. But 5 MM difference is so small, but ya never know.
