Default I'm going to go hang around the general area and see if i can

spot him again around the same time of day in case he was coming home from work... Driving a late model dodge pickup red and he looks like newman from seinfeld only with a scraggly beard... should be easy to spot eh? and then i can at least get a plate number and go talk to him

Oh yes, this reminds me. I need to grab a new disposable camera with flash! I forgot for the longest time

Glad she's okay. The car can be fixed. That idiot that ran will be fixed heh.

You can get a halfway decent digital on fleabay for sub $50.

Bill- as far as this guy goes- forget about it. I don't like the idea of you stalking this guy. The wife's OK. In the millions of different little crapshoots of fate that make up a life, you're still a winner on this one.

The cops said yes so she made the turn and pulled off into a parking lot, the guy that hit her took off and ran. She didn't get a plate either , she then told the cops that the guy had taken off after she did what they said and they didn't bother showing up then... At any rate the damage appears fairly minor and she wasn't hurt just shaken up.
It takes all kinds. Glad the Mrs. is OK.

Is stalking really necessary in the States ? How do your coppers work?

Here in Oz all you need is a registration number and a statement to the police of what the other driver did. They then interview the driver, probably give him or her tickets for "negligent driving" and "failing to stop after the accident", and they organise for the repairs to your vehicle to be paid for by the other driver or their insurance company.

All this happens without divulging your identity to the guilty party !

(Ask me how I know? - One of my sons recently had a small car park bingle and this is what happened to him even though he didn't realise he had touched the other car. - The copper believed him so he didn't get a failing to stop ticket.)

If this is what also happens in the States, surely you are at no risk if you can identify the other driver to the police.

I am very glad your wife suffered no injuries.

I'm glad she wasn't hurt. Cars can be replaced, but it's good to hear that isn't necessary either.

I know it doesnt help you at all but when i was hit i also moved away from the place of collision but not before writing down the other cars plate number...then i indicated her to follow me to a less crowded area, and if she decided to be smart and run, i had the bare details to pass onto cops.

    Sorry again
