    I had a pair of them fitted to the rear springs of a car I had 15 years ago, a mk 1 Vauxhall Cavalier. The car had a towbar fitted and they stopped the car from "sagging" under the trailer nose weight. If fitted properly they won't fall out! There were metal "clamp" ones available then too, but they looked a bit too unreliable.
