The owner is a member of our car club. There was an article on his venture into drag racing back in 2004. Obviously has a lot of cash to throw around

A lot of cash? The modifications probably cost more than the car. Have a read over at bimmerforums. He gives a lot of **** to the USA dudes becasue they can't come near his quarter mile times and they claim a lot higher horsepower figures from their cars.

Why get a M30? I hope you realize that there are E36s with your motor ('92 non vanos) making 750+ horsepower running 10.7 sec quarter miles...

    Food for thought

Would it not be easier to get the horsepower from the big six? http://servo.postverket.us/alex/BMW.pdf I believe we have one on our forum as well.

yes but i have an m30 and an m50 even in the small guise (2.8L m30b28) i am starting to like the m30 more, also there is the question of reliability it is very hard to find a e34 with less than 200 000 km on the clock with a manual tranny plus the m30 seems to have much better mid range, I don't really want to hold onto my 525i for longer than a year i can just see it costing waaaaaaaaaaay too much in maintenance when it clicks over 250-260 000 km.

Alright let me know when you sell your motor. I will buy it.

    Reason?

M50B25 non vanos. This is what mine will look like sooner or later... except with a supercharger as well.

Seriously, what can you do with 750 that you can't do with 500 (besides embarass a Gallardo above 180MPH)?
