It looks like the diff is puking a spider. Other than the sheer laziness of the idea, I have my doubts as to whether it would work in any serious depth of snow. he chains would get hung up before they got under the tire (if they weren't already frozen cock stiff).

Am I seeing it right? It just actuates an arm that flips a rotating chain wheel down towards the bottom of your tires?
