Thread: Best place to get 2nd jack and stands

    When I did my tranny... valve body only... I used rhino ramps under front wheels... and used two old 2.5 ton steel jack to raise rear end only for filling up tranny.

    Good deals on jacks are Costco, Sam's... BJ don't carry them. Costco has aluminum good one if you can get em. So damn light! And fast going up (double pumps)... Good control down on the aluminum jack.

    Default Keep in mind that even with the Al jack...

    you will have to put some effort into it to lift the car because of the double pump that Tiger mentioned and its location but this is a minor distraction. A lot torque has to be applied... this is why the handle is relatively long. The jack weights about 48 lbs, and as Shogun says, don't be cheap...
