Default Saw two M5 E34's in two days!

These are somewhat rare beasts in Oz. I saw a red one in a crash repairers on Friday. The owner is selling it once the repairs are complete. Some turkey pulled out of a side street in front of him. Has only 105,000 kms on the clock. Then I saw a blue one yesterday. Had a look over it and spoke to the owner. He said it was a '92 model M5 but I wasn't certain if it was genuine. Had throwing stars, sports seats and M-Tech front and rear bars, but had an early style steering wheel and no 'M' insignia in the center of the instrument cluster. It had also been debadged. I didn't get to see under the bonnet. The economy meter was only in gallons (not litres) so it may have been a British import, but something didn't seem quite right about it. I though it may have been a 535is with 'T'-Stars. Also saw an immaculate 540LE on Thursday. Lately E34's seem to be coming out of the woodwork!!

    1990 E34 535iA, 215,000kms (130,000 miles).
Dual Climate, Rear Headrests, Rollerblind, M-Tech Wheel,
    Memory Seats, EAT Chip, T-Stars.

i was going to put something exactly like this up this week! are they breeding? when i bought my car 3 years ago there was one other on the coast. in the past 2 weeks ive seen maybe 20. there are only 400,000 up here and ive not seen two cars the same. the wierd thing is that at least half of these are 540i and in stunning condition and every colour except white. I guess people now realise the value for money of these cars.

I think you're right. I should have asked for a look under the bonnet!

Definitely right. The M5 has an oil temperature gauge where every other E34 has the economy gauge.

No doubt still a very nice car.

    Cheers

Yeah they're rare here in any form, the E34's. Except in my neighbourhood, there are 4 E34's besides mine.

The other day i was at the lights and a 540 stops on my left, and another on my right, with me and my 535 in the middle. What are the odds on 3 34's sitting there at the same time? ))

if you mean me, nah i didnt. One, they'd probably bury me and two, they were both middle aged people and me taking off would render me "a young idiot" They both started normally, but then if i revved, maybe they'd go for it. Either way, driving fast off the lights is not why i have this car .
