    Default rpm's reading low?

so i turned the motor on today and the rpm's are reading low
this has happened before but after a restart it returned to
    normal..

i'm thinking that its a electrical connection? perhaps the
one on the back of the cluster?

where would you start looking first?

same thing happen to me.... but mine were reading high

I turned the car off twice while I was going down the road, and started it back up using the momentum of the car.... but the gauge was still wrong.... I arrived at my destination, and an hour later when I started the car up again.... all was fine

it sure does catch you off guard when your on the gas hard in first, and you see the tach hit 7100 rpm (was probably more like 5000)

I'm just crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen again.

my speed gauge sometimes goes drastically up and down..like from 90 down to 50 during constant speed...i have to knock on the cluster for it to stop...
