Default Cyliner head at shop...time to clean the rest of the stuff

My head is at the shop getting all "purtied up". How can I clean the cylinder heads without cranking the engine. Is there a solvent? I plan on changing the oil once I get the head back on. One of my injectors is missing one of the little orange tabs...is this a problem? What other things should I change wile the head is still off. I got the full cylinder head kits and plan to change all gaskets and seals.
