Default Wow, that TIS thing is good...

Every few months, my wipers will come on for six wipes as I start the car, for no apparent reason... Looked it up in the TIS, and it's a "known issue" with a fix. Not that I can be bothered fixing it for what is just an occasional surprise.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Where did you get the TIS Info from?

I am looking at buying a CD with the info on it on Ebay for $10.00.

I can't copy and past the TIS info without taking 4 screenshots and hosting them as images.... it was in Group 61, Chassis - Electrical, 61 12 89 (1948, November 1989.

Interestingly, it said only 7/89 to 9/89 cars were affected, and all must be repaired even if the fault is not present. Mine was made 11/89 and does exactly as it says!

The remedy involves cutting a wire from a harness under the dash, splicing in an adaptor harness (P/N 61 30 4 188 798), and splicing that harness into another harness!

I bought one of those. I don't use the TIS much though. I use the ETK more.

Mine came as a 5 CD set, with the TIS, ETK and Electronic troubleshooting manual. Must be fairly recent as it has E65/66 info.
