Default Haar and Esi brands; ever heard of them?

    Hi everybody!

I am going to buy front upper rear (or thrust control arm) and I have two options:
    1. Ebay, I was told the manufacturer is Esi http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

    2. Local shop, manufacturer is Optimal kg Haar

Did anybody hear or use parts with this brands?

The far right control on the climate control (or just air conditioner?) does not work, it just spins freely, without any fixation. So I was wondering to buy this:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
But, do I really need to buy the whole module? Or just the regulator?

    Thanks for help.

    Here we go again...

I'd stay away from both of the options unless you want to become a quality control test subject

Buy lemforder arms. We talk about this all the time, in fact -- there's another thread up top here right now debating the same damn thing.

I've heard or read that the controls can be pulled apart, but have never done it. It'll add a lot of R&R time, I would think. Removing the slider cables will be a big enough pain in the ass to begin with, might as well save some of the hassle and buy the entire thing.

    best, whit

Optimal KG is a supplier near Munich in Germany for the after market
    http://www.optimal-germany.com/seiten_e/index_e.htm
    Very aggressive pricing.
Do not know about the quality.
The single regulator new from the dealer is probably more expensive than the whole control unit.
But why do you not first disassemble the regulator and see what is wrong with it.
Maybe 30 minutes work will do the job.

There is no lemforder at where I live, Atyrau/Kazakhstan; even if I find one in Ebay, it will be very expensive.

Disassembling the regulator; I am totally unexperienced in that kind of things, when I look at it, I have no idea from where to start. So I prefer not to touch it, until at least I have someone more experienced by my side.

As you live that far away in Kazakhstan where probably you cannot drive 200 kmh, I would suggest you buy the Optimal. Esi I have not heard of, but that does not matter, there are so many subsuppliers.
Optimal is also used in Germany quite often.
If you cannot handle to disassemble the conrtol, at least remove it and bring it to your local electrician that he can have a look into that part.
I would suggest you to buy a Bentley Repair Manual, which for sure will help you and/or the people repairing your car.
A good investment. Cost is about 50 $.
