thanks for that mate, I'm getting high fuel consumption, I think the o2 sensor needs replacing.
Hey all, I've been doing some research. Here are some handy part numbers to know!
I finally found the site that accesses the Bosch parts database.
It includes specific vehicle applications, however it does tend to cover complete assemblies instead of the smaller parts that make up, say a starter motor of AFM.
I used it due to confusion over the type of Oxy sensor I need. The first vendor I gto one from sent me the wrong unit, and now there is a guy selling them cheap on eBay- but his part numbers are vague and in some cases appear wrong once you try cross-referencing them. Beware these vendors like the plague. With gas prices the way they are you don't want the wrong sensor on your car....
You can visit Bosch and do the same for almost any vehicle. Beware too- It only works with MS Internet Explorer (so by some strange co-incidence it is also ugly and slow) So to save you the pain, I gleaned all the e34 specific data out of it and pasted it below
As a general rule, the part numbers starting with 0 are Bosch and you can check which ones fit other BMWs against RealOEM by plugging in the BMW partt numbers.

Sure np dude.
You can use that cool part number reference tool (feature of the online ETK (www.realoem.com)) to check which other BMW models it fits too, ie- in the case of the O2 sensor in our cars (88-93 535i) also fits;
0 258 005 313 Lambda Probe (Oxygen Sensor)
ie
BMW 11 78 1 720 537
GMC 25172612
Fits the following BMWs-
E24: Details on E24
E24 635CSi COUPE, U.S.
E24 635CSi COUPE, Euro
E32: Details on E32
E32 735i SEDAN, U.S.
E32 735iL SEDAN, U.S.
E32 730i SEDAN, Euro
E32 730iL SEDAN, Euro
E32 735i SEDAN, Euro
E32 735iL SEDAN, Euro
E34: Details on E34
E34 535i SEDAN, U.S.
E34 M5 3.6 SEDAN, U.S.
E34 530i SEDAN, Euro
E34 535i SEDAN, Euro
E34 M5 TOURING, Euro
E34 M5 3.6 SEDAN, Euro
E34 M5 3.8 SEDAN, Euro
The intereseting thing is the probe end on mine has the Boschc part number stamped on it as 0258003037
Now this is the same I know as an 88 E32 735i, however the actual plugs on th ends are different. The 535 has a 1 1/4" diameter plug, the 735 has a small 1/2" one.
I think there is some confusion reigning.
