Default 525i (m50) transmission oil cooler

my car had an inspection II done to it today. they found a leak and said it's related to the tranny oil cooler. they are unsure at this point if it's just the o-rings or whether it is the tranny oil cooler itself. that's the probability that it is the oil cooler? how long do these thing usually last? my car has 145k miles on it. TIA.

i get a tranny flush during every inspection II. so that was done.

they said they're going to clean up the area, drive it for a few miles, and see what's up.

you do realise that many, many of the flush machines (i would guess most of them) hook up to the atf pipes that would normally be attached to the cooler? perhaps the orings died when the pipes got taken off.
