    Default locking problem

The Rear Drivers side door lock does not engage when locking or un-locking, it works manually, but not with the central locking. I tryed the re-sync procedure, no joy. I looked in the old threads and it seems to me that this is a bad solenoid, am I on the right track? any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Entirely a possibility. I guess the only way to check is to pull the thing apart and replace it with a known working actuator.

Here's a pic of one (gas door, therefore no microswitch/brushes) cut open, for what it's worth:

And the same unit, not cut open:

Be sure to have a stubby 8mm when going in there -- the hex head screws face outwards, making it somewhat awkward to get at for removal and reinstallation. A magnet is also a good idea, for when the screws fall and get caught in the unreachable lower door crease.

Thanks Whit, I'll give it a try.
